REPLY BACK : Lady in White, Gentlemen in Tan.

Lady in White, Gentleman in Tan

1. Halcyon.

Walk
until feet gives away
to sinking land,
that melts and buries stance.

Wait
until breathe rhythms along
the rippling waves,
until mind follows
the waltz beneath,
feeling
ruffling white,
flirt with bashful tan.

Be curious as newborn babes,
Stand
as audience to the courting shores.

There,
you’ll find
the lady in white
and gentleman in tan.

DRAFT 1 . Halcyon. (10/16/2011)

Walk
until feet gives away
to sinking land,
that melts and buries stance.

Wait
until breathe rhythms along
the rippling waves.
Until mind
follows
the waltz beneath.
Feeling
ruffling white,
flirt with bashful tan.

Stand
with peeking stone,
curious as newborn babes,
audience to courting shores.

There you’ll hear, see and feel
the lady in white and gentleman in tan.

Song of the moment: “What are we waiting for” Amiina

Not exactly a reply back but the poem in the book inspired a spark for this little guy here. This is first draft. Just want to throw it out here before I forgot. Below is the original Anthropologie poem.

“Go he said,

Until rock gives way to sea, gives way to

Salt and air and the elements all-

Until feet touch land that creaks, melts and sighs.

Rippling, crashing, splitting beneath you,

Its tired arms open to the cold of the night -

everything frozen, everything hushed.

And then, with eyes at rest, look closely.

Closer.

Closer still.

And in that moment, you will find me -

Indeed you will see.”
